Bladeless Fan

bladeless fan reviewGadgetSo, I was in Comet yesterday and saw this crazy-looking device like something from Dune or Star Wars, blowing air at me with no visible means of doing so. Obviously I went and bought it right away.

The fan is made by Dyson, of bag-less vacuum cleaner fame, and sucks air into the base unit then squeezes it out through a thin aperture around the 12 inch rim. This high-pressure airflow drags more air with it, increasing the air volume by six times.

I could go on, bla bla bla, about all sorts of other specs like the fact the air is a continuous flow, and not a kind of whoosh whoosh wave like you get from a normal fan, but the main attraction for me is the magical feeling it projects. As soon as people see there’s no bladed they start sticking their hand through the loop, then feeling all around to see where the air is coming from.

Still, you have to be a bit of a gadget connoisseur to go for this, it’s pretty expensive for a fan.

I want one. I have no need for it but i still want one. I never knew dyson made anything else but vacuum cleaners, suppose it makes sense really one sucks one blows.
